A number of weeks ago RedBubble set you the task of creating a brand new, highly original comic book character to be shown off and given away as a limited edition t-shirt at RedBubble’s booth at this year’s New York Comic Con. And you answered the call with style – plenty of designs featuring skin tight lycra and an unhealthy amount of lethal weaponry. And so the time has come to announce the winner of the New York Comic Con Challenge.

Born in London, UK, Steven Austin (what) was thrust into the world of comics at a very young age. Awestruck by the mighty talents of Neil Adams, John Byrne, Art Adams and Frank Miller Steven soon realized that the pencil is indeed mightier than the sword…as long as it is sharpened. Apart from his winning design ‘The Colonel’ Steven has also recently finished working on a collaborative project with 22 other uber talented artists entitled the ‘Game of Kings’, an epic fantasy role-playing type adventure based around an elemental game of chess. See Game of Kings here

Not going to lie I was a little excited by the idea of Stone Cold winning an art contest.
