So this past weekend I threw down at the S.O.S Gamer Street Fighter Charity Event. A percentage of the proceeds went to Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

As far as events go, the atmosphere was pretty relaxed. Food was provided by Chipolte and there were delicious delicious cup cakes. The DJ spun some pretty awesome tracks, including remixes of Street Fighter tracks during the tournament.

With that said how did your friendly neighborhood phire do? Well I got out of the first round pretty easily. I had match up experience against the two characters my first opponent used (Sakura and Goken). In the second round I had to deal with Chris Hu who used E.Honda. I have little to no match up experience fighting Honda. So needless to say I was defeated. I took the loss with me to the losers bracket. I was still kind of focusing on what I did wrong so I got beat by someone who I should have beaten handily. I guess that means it’s back to the training room for me.I have to make sure I’m ready for the upcoming tournament on the 30th.

However I did manage to score a picture with the cosplaying girls that were there. Guess that sorta soothes the wounded pride.

Seems not only do you need time in the Danger Room, but also more tourny experience. When you lose to someone, make sure its ONLY because your opponent is more skilled. Not because you mentally beat yourself out the game! Seems like your still a bit of a hot head. Smart competitiors feed off that.
