Star Wars: The Old Republic E3 Preview – Part 2 of 2

Now that the Chocolate Lemon crew has landed back to home base, we have legitimate internet connections and can provide you with a few videos that we were previously unable to upload. What we have here are two different videos witnessed during our closed doors E3 visit with Lucasarts. The video up top is the second major trailer released by Bioware, titled “Hero”. The first Old Republic trailer was focused on the rise of the Sith, as well as the fall of the Jedi, whereas the second Old Republic trailer is focused around the Jedi and Rebel Alliance taking a stand against the Sith.

The video below is a guide through the life of a bounty hunter in The Old Republic. From your humble beginnings with non-existent armor and a pea shooter blaster, right on through to his high level gear and weaponry, taking on a formidable opponent. This video is more of a guide through the upgrades you will receive throughout your time with The Old Republic.

Unfortunately, our press access did not unearth a video of the Bioware devs partaking in a mock up group expedition, demonstrating the group mechanics, such as main tanking, dps, crowd control and healing. Even on its earl build, the mechanics looked solid, demonstrating the efficiency of each classification.

While PC game coverage isn’t a focal point at Chocolate Lemon, there’s an undeniable sense of anticipation for Bioware’s epic in the making. The allure of the Star Wars franchise, the addiction of the MMORPG genre and the countless possibilities as to how the game could wind up has us intrigued in ways that most console games fail to. We will keep you up to date with the latest developments and progression of Star Wars: The Old Republic, right on through to its mid 2011 release. In the meantime, take a look over some of the concept drawings, as well as other images previously unused here at Chocolate Lemon:
