I am pleased to formally announce the huge project I have been mentioning over the last few weeks. I’ve been hard at work on this for quite a while, with a couple of sleepless nights under my belt, and more to come. But after putting in the time to establish a smooth and seamless launch, I am pleased to finally reveal my massive project for 2010 – 365 reviews in 365 days! One review, each day, every day in 2010!
.
365//365 for short, could be considered overly ambitious. Providing content every single day in 2010, I aim to give every video game enthusiast something to do for at least a few minutes a day that isn’t detrimental or pointless, but interesting, insightful, and maybe a little comical. I’m sure you’ll encounter reviews every day from other sources, but not only do they do a small handful of games a month, but they stick within the current generation of games. I want to provide you all with daily content from one person, spanning several generations of gaming. Reviews will range from the 8 bit era, all the way through to today’s home consoles and handheld titles. I am working as hard as I can to obtain a few harder to come by systems, and further diversify what games and what genres you see reviews for.
.
.
Not only that, but I will be providing several different formats for my reviews. While some of the formats are very labor intensive and will not be done as often, they will help mix things up throughout the year. Let me introduce you to all of the formats you will see:
.
.
.
As the year progresses, I will try and work on a few collaborations with other CL Gamer bloggers in the form of a two person review, comparing several aspects of one game and providing our own ratings for the game, as well as the potential Video Review, which is self explanatory. For now, those two features are in a preliminary planning stages, but I am hopeful to add those two formats to my 365//365 structure within due time.
.
I cannot stress enough how big of a project this is, and how labor intensive this has been. I have already spent a couple of nights without sleep, trying to get as smooth of a launch and as smooth of a first quarter (roughly) as I can get completed before the New Year. It’s not as easy as getting a bunch done ahead of time and just releasing. Getting the look of the review, screen shots and trying to space things out for enough variety is a big deal for me, as is quality control. I don’t intend on throwing anything without being satisfied with the results. While you’ll be seeing plenty of games between the 8 and 64 bit platforms, newer games, as well as those from the previous generation will be added in soon enough, and help give a better separation between the number of older titles reviewed. You will also see reviews of select new releases thrown into the mix as well.
.
My ultimate goal is simple – I wish to provide great daily content, that if you all enjoy it, you can spread the word and bring in some more friends to follow along throughout the year and see exactly what I’ll take on the next day. The more people that come on board and take a little time each day to read my reviews, the more satisfaction I’ll get to provide more and more of you something worthwhile to read each day. Email your buddies, tweet your friends, IM your fellow gamers, pass on the information to all that love gaming and love gaming reviews from 8 bit to current generation titles. It’s been an extremely time consuming and challenging task so far, but I have had so much fun doing it, and I want to share the fun with all of you and more of you as the days pass. You can follow me on the following on Twitter @Jas0nVelez (the 0 is a Zero) and Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/galarian . Facebook will be worked on as soon as time permits, and will be passed along to everyone. direct links to all my reviews can be found by clicking Jason V. in the tag cloud to the right. Don’t be afraid to message me throughout the year!
.
Lets help spread the word, friends! Add 365//365 to your daily searches on the web, and lets tell our friends to as well, and their friends! The project kicks off January 1st, 2010. Can’t wait to see you there!
