MGO. Rev up those nano-machines.

Hey folks, your friendly neighborhood Krismas is back for another session.

However, I am not bringing you any heart-shattering news or groundbreaking reviews today.  Instead, I come here with a different mission, one I feel is crucial if a little late.

I know that all of you have either played, seen, or at least heard about Metal Gear Solid 4 by now.  It is a great game that I enjoy even to this day (Snake Eater is still my favorite, though).  However, while most of you know that side of MGS4, I doubt many of you have experienced or taken part in the online portion of the game, known as Metal Gear Online.  The online play is an easy thing to overlook.  Not many people would think that a sneaking game such as MGS would be suitable for PvP, even with the recent additions to the controller scheme.  It would surprise some people, however, to know that this isn’t the first time MGS has had an online PvP mode.  MGS3:Snake Eater had an online VS mode (one which i never got a chance to play), and both of the Portable Ops installations of the series were heavily geared toward online play.  These past trials have given the MGS team more than enough practice in making online PVP, and they have successfully done so with Metal Gear Online.

I could sit here and give you a full review, but it is not what I am here for, so I’ll give you the condensed soup version instead.

~ Customizable characters with continuously updated gear available in the rewards shop (no actual monetary purchase required)

~ Play as some of your favorite characters!  Current cast includes: Snake, Liquid Ocelot, Vamp, Raiden, Meryl, Johnny aka Akiba and Mei Ling (in special modes only).  Purchasable expansion packs are required for anybody other than Snake,  Meryl, or  Johnny.

~ Full array of weapons at your disposal (excluding character-specific weaponry, or those gimmicky weapons Kojima loves so much.)

~ Choose skills to fit your play style.  Options include CQC, handgun, sniper, throw grenades further, move faster while in a box, run faster, make traps visible, put down traps faster, resist knockdowns, and many more.

~ A variety of different game-styles, such as: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Sneaking (standard TDM rules apply: player plays as Snake, the objective is to kill Snake the allotted number of times or have more kills than the opposing team, Snake must knock out and secure dogtags from players in order to win.), Base (where players fight for specified areas on the map), and many more.

That’s the gist of it.  I highly recommend MGO for anyone who hasn’t tried it but has enjoyed MGS4.

NOW on to my mission objective. I, myself, am a frequent MGO player. I enjoy it a lot, and the constant upkeep from development teams keep the game updated and fair (other than laggy players, I have yet to see anything buggy or glitchy about the game). I play alongside some solid people, but I need a consistent group that I can rely on.

I need people to join up and start playing some MGO! Phire and I want to start our own Chocolate Lemon MGO group and we need you guys to help us represent. We will be more than willing to teach any and all tricks of the trade to newcomers.
