Tomino Guest of Honor at NYAF

It has been confirmed, anime legend Yoshiyuki Tomino will be a guest of honor at the New York Anime Festival in September.

For all those who don’t know this (and if you don’t know this I am truly ashamed of you, as a matter a fact you shouldn’t be reading this. Go to the Nabisco Kids website and play a game or something) Tomino is one of the godfathers of the mecha genre with his series Mobile Suit Gundam which premiered in 1979 and heralding the genre of giant robots in real warlike situations aka Real Robot Series. To this day his saga still continues with the latest installment Gundam Unicorn which Tomino himself is directing. Outside of Mobile Suit Gundam, he has done plenty of other mecha series such as Daitarn 3, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Overman King Gainer which is a personal fav of mine. For those who want to see this great legend of anime in person, get your tickets NOW for the NYAF. Will I be there…heck yeah. Will I do the King Gainer Dance with him? Hopefully…man oh man…hopefully.
