Kanon Wakeshima will be playing at 2009’s Otakon. However I think she’s still somewhat unknown. About a year ago I fell in love with her work. Playing the cello since she was 3, she now plays and sings professionally. Her singles “Still Doll” and “Suna no Oshiro (Castle of Sand)” were featured in the 1st and 2nd season of the anime Vampire Knight. I think what’s most interesting though, is that she’s being produced by Mana (Lead guitarist of the visual kei band Malice Mizer, and also designs his own line of Lolita clothes) which probably explains why all her dresses are totally outrageous and Lolita inspired.

Her newest album “Shinshoku Dolce” released 2 days ago on the 28th, so you Otakon goers will probably be some of the first to hear her new songs live. Defiantly don’t miss out on this, because it should be a real treat!
