Bobby Lashley in MMA

03.24.2009

Yes ladies and gents you’ve heard it from me. I just scored some info on WWE’s recent leave Bobby lashley and discovered he transitioned into MMA which in my opinion was probably the greatest thing he ever did for his career. He recently fought The ultimate fighter season 8 tryout contestant Jason Guida at March Madness in Florida recently and from what i saw he likes to control his opponents with his wrestling background which isnt a bad thing but can drain you ferociously BUT his striking game is SICK. It left Guida in SHOCK when he received a nice right punch and a clinch with Lashley. Another thing is how Lashley bull rushed Guida with an insane flurry of punches. Lashley in round 2 slammed the life out of Guida and landed in his half guard and started attacking the body of Jason guida. He won due to a decision in this event and plans on moving to the UFC after hating everything about the UFC. So expect to see Bobby Lashley in some upcoming UFC events.

Keep checking back for your dose of MMA info

I like how Jason talked massive crap and lost all three rounds. I didn’t see the fight though — not a MMA fan really, or just extremely casual. To Jason’s credit, he had Bobby from what I read in the 3rd round and he somehow mustered the strength to break it.

I don’t care to see a Lesnar/Lashley bout either. Just because they are both former wrestling champs and have either NCAA wrestling or Olympic wrestling backgrounds, I don’t really have an interest. Unless the build up is between two power house athletes that, if they stay on a good pace, with dominant records. Then I’ll want to see it.

well honestly I highly doubt lashley will transition to UFC anytime soon. and as far as lesnar goes I expect to see him get slaughtered by frank mir soon. The thing about big guys like lesnar and lashley who only focus on wrestling is that they are EXTREMELY weak against submissions to their legs. Kimbo for example went from street fighter to MMA then got KO’ed by a scrub from UFC. Lashley however is very humble about being in this sport and knows there’s space and time for evolution in his game.
